Let me start by saying, this is a SOLID 3. My husband and I were looking for an inexpensive place to stay in the Ventura/ Oxnard area for one night. We were looking cheap, just a quick overnight trip 90 miles from home. What we didn't expect was how far we would actually travel - all the way back to1976!!
This is not a luxury vacation destination, which we were not looking for. So if you are, move along. But if you, like we were, are on a budget, and you are looking for the basics (a locked door on a warm room,) then I will say, check in. You'll do it old school, filling out an actual paper card, and they will hand you an actual key to the door. There have been no upgrades to this motel in a LONG time, the décor is 70s, all the way down to the push button phone, but it was clean and the couple running the place were kind and helpful people. The TV was decent (though the remote had tape holding the batteries in and you had to enter channel numbers the old fashioned way.) The heater kept us warm on a very cold night.
It's an inexpensive stop over location. If that's what you're looking for, you'll get what you paid for.
