It was generally really nice. Its a great hotel, brilliantly situated to go into town with bus stop really close to the hotel and taxi options at the front desk. Only thing that let it down was that, although breakfast was included in our booking, they told us when we checked in that it wasn't, and if we wanted the hot buffet it would be £14.95. I checked our booking the following morning, saw it was included, and challenged them at reception. They then said that they'd tried to find us after booking in to say it had been added. Went for breakfast to be told we we're not on the list. Lady kindly went to reception and came back to say they had given her wrong info?? We eventually got breakfast, but it was kind of stressful and we were in a rush as we had a tour booked.

Hotel was I great location with views over nearby park and a 15 minute bus ride into the heart of the city. Bus stop was right outside. Staff were very helpful and friendly Rooms were immaculate.

Very poor experience from the start. Arrived and waited at reception 20 minutes before anyone appeared. They have two bells on the desk, both broken. Barry then appeared, creepy vibes. Found the room, it was freezing cold. Radiator not working but electric heater provided. Slowly heated the room.. damage visible everywhere you look. Blind missing in bedroom. Curtains barely holding to the track. Tv fitted with incorrect screws and hanging off the wall. Comfortable bed- the only positive. No ironing facilities. Bath doesn’t drain water properly so it just sits there for ages. Water pressure very low. Musty smell in bathroom probably from blocked drains. Not work £160 per night, more like £40 per night.

Great Hotel for accessing Edinburgh
The staff at reception and the whole hotel, were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfeast was excellent and the hotel is well postioned for good walks at the hermitage and with a bus stop just across the road making the city easily accessible.

Great location but cleanliness was poor
Staff were friendly and the location of the hotel was great but the room did not feel very clean: around 40 hairs in the bathroom, an empty plastic cup and a packet of biscuit crumbs the side of the bed. The decor is nice enough but damaged and stuck back together with sellotape. Quite strange. We got the room on a deal - £110 instead of £210. I would have been absolutely livid if I'd paid the latter price.

This is a lovely hotel, we were pleasantly surprised! Room was very spacious with a lovely view. Nice bar area & very convenient with a bus stop right outside that takes you right into town. Would definitely stay here again.
