Ok, let's cover the challenges first - if you are looking for hotel quality service standards then look elsewhere! This place is EXACTLY as described - a BASIC, SMALL apartment (essentially a studio), in the heart of Soho that makes it an ideal location for exploration and business trips. A couple of minutes walk from Oxford Street, Oxford Circus underground station and Tottenham Court Road underground station. So it was a great 'base of operations' for me. For those that want it, the vibrant (& sometimes 'interesting'!) nightlife of Soho is on your doorstep.
So, given these pluses, be aware of what this also means. It is an apartment on a busy street in a busy part of town. So if you need perfect silence to sleep (ear plugs are provided by your hosts) then look elsewhere! Also, if you have disabilities or mobility problems, then one of the factors not well advertised is that this is a 3rd floor flat accessed via a narrow staircase - 50 quite steep steps.
The apartment itself is quite tired, but clean and perfectly adequate. I was very happy with it - ultimately you get what you pay for and this suited me better than a much more expensive hotel in the area.
One last point to note - if you don't know London well, don't be fooled by the Hotels.com location marker for this place. It is NOWHERE near the area shown!! It is the other side of Chinatown and theatre land, so a brisk 20 minute walk to Trafalgar Square etc.
Would I stay again? Yes, absolutely.
