Similar to others, I was slightly apprehensive before my stay because of negative reviews, but it was all for nothing because this hotel in my experience was FANTASTIC. The room and overall hotel were exactly a three-star hotel and at a great price, so if you are expecting a five-star experience on a three-star budget then you will be disappointed. If however you are perfectly content cleaning up after yourself and self-sufficient, you shouldn't find any problems with this hotel. It is in a very old part of London - of course the rooms will be small, and you will find pretty much the same in all the hotels in the area. Yes, the area is busy and you will hear noises both outside your window and in the hotel corridors - again you are in a very old building in a busy area, and frankly if you are over the age of 20 and have travelled at all and haven't already learnt to bring your own earplugs to unfamiliar places, that's on you. There were marks on the walls but if you've stayed in hostels at all and have experienced true budget conditions, you wouldn't even notice it. The room was clean, cute, well-maintained and the staff were fantastic, lovely and cheerful and very generous with handing over anything I asked for. Would highly recommend.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve been in.Everything has gone the way I want it to be. The staff are so respectful and treated me well. The beds are comfy and it’s so cheap way worth the money.

Royal Cambridge Hotel
When we arrived we were greeted by Denny, very polite young man. The room was very clean and ample for 4 people. There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We are all tea drinkers so whenever we went and asked for extra tea bags or milk we were given big handfuls which was excellent. Checkout was very easy and quick. There was someone at the front desk 24/7 which was a big plus. We would definitely use the Royal Cambridge Hotel again whenever we go to London.

Very nice staff who kindly allowed early check-in. The mattress was terrible and made our bodies hurt in the morning. Thank goodness for the great shower pressure and hot water to relieve the sore muscles. I wasn’t expecting the best mattress ever, but something slightly better would make a difference. It would be better to have wash cloths available for washing in the shower.

The property was very clean and well maintained. The only issue we experienced was with the wifi. It could only be reached when we were by the door. We were on the second floor. This was mentioned to the front desk and said they would look into an extender.

Property was okay, the main factilies in the room were clean (beds/sink/shower etc) the bathroom skirting needed a good clean. It was a good place for us to sleep for 1 night. The room we stayed in heard every noise from the room above which was annoying at first and did cause you to wake on occasion.

I was dreading this stay after seeing the reviews. However room was clean. Small but clean. For a 1 night stay it is fine. Very close to Paddington station and lots of restaurants etc. we stayed here when we watched Taylor swift and for the amount of time your actually in the room this place was perfect.

Pleasantly Surprised
I was a little bit apprehensive about stopping at this hotel after reading some of the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. We thought it was very good value for money. The staff were nice and helpful and the rooms of a decent size for London. The hotel communal areas had just been decorated. We both said we would say here again.

Read some harsh reviews and was concerned but how wrong they are!! Yes it was small but not being funny your in London you only need a bed to sleep! The room was fine shower was good and fan was excellent. Only 2 downsides were A: the price was quite a lot for the room and facilities and B: no brekkie. Lad on desk was welcoming. Ont thing to point out that I wasn’t aware of, you need photo ID to check in. Id left my things at home as obviously don’t want too much in me walking around luckily husnbanf had his licence on him. All in all would stay again for convenience. Thanks guys

We booked three rooms in this hotel. One room had three beds and was extremely small to the point that we were not able to open our suitcases. Another major problem was that the bathroom shower had mold, and my kids did not feel comfortable taking a shower. The bathroom also had a bad smell. In addition, there was no place to put your shower gel and shampoo in the shower area. Overall, the rooms were not clean enough. The other two rooms booked by my mom and sister had similar issues.
