I stay here every year about 4/5 times to watch Cricket at Lords / Oval and. As usual room is smal but very clean and decent television and charging points Bar now good buzzy place with friendly staff -Bugis restaurant seems to have gone back - more senior staff seem a bit under motivated which doesnt leave good impression on customer - younger seem much snappier Its very convenient opposite Goucester road tube and Im very happy to return but pity about Bugis ph cri

This hotel forced us to put an additional deposit when we checked in for incidentals. This is mentioned in the listing and was not unexpected even though it was our only hotel in the UK that did this. However, upon check out, they would not refund the full deposit saying that there was an additional charge for an extra bed for our 3 year old son. We booked a Deluxe Double for 2 adults and one child (This in one bed). The listing indicates that the room sleeps 3 and we indicated on Expedia that we had 3. We paid in full via Expedia in advance. The room rules and restrictions indicate that all guests are considered adults regardless of age though we provided our childs age in the booking process. The hotel gave us a "complementary" upgrade to a room with another bed without telling us that they were doing so. Upon checkout they told us there was an additional charge for the child's extra bed because he was 3 and not over 11 and showed a piece of paper with their policy to add this charge for "Expedia" bookings. I did not have time at checkout to resolve this issue since they seemed inflexible. As of this moment I do not yet have the rest of the refund but I will update my review with the final result of reaching out to them if I am able. The property seemed nice but this whole situation seems like a scam which I am not OK with. I felt gaslit by the staff who acted like I was in the wrong. Thus the 1 star review.

Nothing comfortable about it! Avoid room 442!
Oh boy. I don’t think I’ve ever left a bad review but here it goes- the bed was atrocious. I requested a king bed to sleep in the middle and a larger more luxurious room with lots of light. The bed had large metal or something protruding in the middle. I requested help. I got a pad on top- it did nothing and my back is beyond achy. I felt like I had to sleep in a twin because the bed in room 442 has large people divots and it’s old and just the worst. Fridge was broken, the milk I for my morning coffee that I purchased had to have strategically placed bags of ice to keep milk from going bad. Then there was no coffee, no sugar. Now I know the hotel cant do anything about street noise but the jackhammers starting at 8:05 in the morning was beyond. Literally the only two things I requested- a quiet room with lots of light and a decadent bed. I got neither and was unfortunately forced to stay because I paid my &1k+ in advance. I should’ve gone back to the Hilton where I had an unbelievably fabulous experience (phenomenal crisp sheets, dreamy bed where you can enjoy a king bed properly, a full free mini bar). Sadly will not be back. Wont recommend and will probably share with my fellow travelers.

lovely hotel just across the road from Gloucester Road tube station. Very close to shops and attractions like the Natural History Museum and the V&A. Friendly staff and although I only had a single room the bed was a small double and there was plenty of room for one person. all the facilities were great too. Would definitely stay there again.

Very disappointed, not sure we were given correct category. Bed sooo small we didn’t sleep and pillows not great. Missing a towel so had to share !!! Most staff v pleasant. I was expecting more of an international restaurant. We arrived late and I just wanted something reasonably plain. The staff in restaurant whilst pleasant, not to keen in serving us late so we went elsewhere. I did understand. If bed was a 5 foot ( queen) , 2 towels and 200 for night I’d use regularly. The mejia white house far more comfortable.
