This is a no-thrills, slightly shabby (but perfectly serviceable, and better than most other hotels in the area, which typically have a bit of a poor reputation) hotel located a stone's throw away from King's Cross/St Pancras. I was only in London for one night so this was ideal, just somewhere to rest and freshen up. It's basic, but the price wasn't bad considering the location. Staff were friendly and I had no major problems.

The man at reception was polite. Stairs were a bit narrow going down. The room was clean shower was ok but not if your over 6ft ( mind your head )room was small BUT was ok for us as we were only staying a night. Stripped the bed in the morning for housekeeping. (mattress oh dear). Think mattress cover is needed. Value for money, well we did leave it a bit late to book about 3 days before hand so not sure if the price would have been much cheaer a month earlier.

Basic low-budget hotel, very good location in quiet street in central London. Decent value for what it is - an affordable, absolutely no frills, place to get your head down for a short stay. Rooms small and with dated decor and furnishings, but clean and with comfortable beds. Rooms are packed in, and some challenging stairs to be tackled, especially while carrying luggage. Reception staff highly variable. First one very friendly and helpful, second one largely indifferent, third one unhelpful, rude and verging on hostile. Can only assume he is somehow related to owners, because can't imagine he would be employed otherwise. Luggage room not secure. There are signs saying that you leave luggage at your own risk, and they mean it. Door is not locked, so literally anyone could walk in and take your bags - especially if the unhelpful guy happens to be on reception. This hotel was an option of last resort for us, and it should be for you too. Could be good with better staff and a bit of TLC on the decor, but currently just an adequate place to stay a night or two at a lower cost.

Great to be so close to kings cross - comfy enough if a little small (might be difficult if you have a lot of luggage). Quiet. Clean. Good enough value for money.

A tiny, dirty, windowless room in the basement, with leaking pipes in the bathroom, was not worth over £100/night. Dreadful place - as has been noted in other reviews.

always like staying at the Wardonia. Yes, rooms are tiny but all i am doing in them is sleeping. Hotel is very convenient to shopping and transport. Staff are friendly and helpful

My go to hotel in London. Yes the rooms are small and up steep staircases but it’s very close to Kings Cross and relatively inexpensive. Owner/manager is very friendly and helpful

Our room was very good, although we were on the top floor and it was quite warm over the weekend, and we only had the window to try and keep us cool. The next time we book, we might try and request a room on a lower floor

Massive stain in the hallway outside our door,smelly room,tiny bed ,our “room” was in the basement of the hotel and the bathroom was full of marks and stains and stunk of bleach !!!! Room was very noisy and the boxed in pipes were clanging all night , Lots of people just stood about in the hallways and small entrance was very intimidating,we wont be staying on there again !

Rather than dash for the last train stayed here. Rooms are compact but comfortable, convenient to St Pancras and reasonably priced.

The room was very basic, which was not a problem as I thought it was worth what we paid, the bathroom could do with a refresh and I did not like the stairs leading down to the lower level! Very narrow and would have been tricky with suitcases, thankfully we both had rucksacks.
