Shabby but practical!
I stayed for a few nights during July. The room was GRIM: dark, dreary and dated. Some areas had a lot of accumulated dust, my son was afraid to use the shower due to the chips and stains. We spent a lot of time in the neighbouring McDonalds to avoid being in the room. No heating in winter though the room stayed at around 17 or 18 degrees. And there was a lot of draft and ambiant street noise from the window.
On a positive note: the double room was surprisingly spacious, with it's own sofa, and separated kitchenette area. This was definitely the high point, having a microwave, fridge, kettle, and plates and cutlery. SO practical with supermarkets around the corner. The young man who works at the front desk is also polite and helpful.
In short, for the price it was fine. If they refreshed the decor a little it would really be a hidden gem in the city.
