Stayed here twice and had a great time both times. The area is nice and the staff was extremely helpful and keeps the place very clean. Didn't try the in house restaurant, but the dessert/parfait operation they run at nice had some really delicious desserts and drinks.
My only complaint is the hostel's towels are very thin and you're only allowed one for the stay. Additional towels are available for rent for ¥200 for the stay, but if you have a lot of hair (or are very accustomed to more plush towels) you may want to bring your own. I will be doing that next time and would definitely stay here again!
Nice, cozy place. The free breakfast of bagels and granola Lia juice, coffee, etc. was a bonus. Friendly, competent staff always busy keeping the place clean. Located three minutes from the Kazurazaka stations Gate 2 in a nice residential neighborhood. Practically next to a FamilyMart with. 7-Eleven also nearby (next to the station), you can get a wide variety of microwaveable and other food nearby to heat up and eat in the small “common room”. Lots and lots of restaurants (hundreds, it seems) are nearby. The lunch sets at nearby Kyourakutei are seriously good. The place used to have Michelin star until recently. Where else can you get lunch like that for $20-30?
An amazing deal, with the big bed and a lot of the perks of a full-fledged capsule hotel for the price of a hostel. Everthing is as clean and well-kept as a hotel too--absolutely no hairs in the bedsheets or any of that nonsense. Hostel rules still apply though; towels are rental, for example, and the front desk will close at 11 PM or so. They even serve free toast and hard-boiled eggs + one drink for breakfast!
Note that while close to the station, the paths are rather narrow, and it's a metro station with only stairs. Take care with the luggage you bring.
The hostel was a bit too expensive for what it was worth. With a bit more cash per day you can get a hotel that will include all amenities that this hostel can't offer (which is none, because it's a hostel)
The bathrooms were really well appointed; the beds were comfortable; and the pods were a good size. :) They also allowed early check-in which was really helpful. They had a list of events happening around Tokyo for those who don't have a fully packed itinerary, which made for spontaneous fun.
Sound management is a bit difficult, as the pods have some open space between them (above the dividers); but I suppose it is to be expected with the type of property. Some information on the train station exit would have been great also (especially if there is an elevator option).
Overall, a great experience. :)
It was my first time staying in a Hostel and im glad it was at UNPLAN. Front of staff was friendly and helpful. Overall amenities and cleanliness were superb!
I would highly recommend this hostel; the staff are so friendly and easy-going, the bed area is spacious and the shared bathroom is huge. The local area is also pleasant and is easy to transport to-and-from the major attractions within Tokyo. Would come again!
My friends and i stayed in a room for 4ppl! It was just right and so clean! The hostel was close to the station so that was really convenient as well! Service was great and everyone was really nice!!
