Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities
Positives:
It is near a lot of restaurants and a major subway station that is within walking distance. The staff are also very helpful and friendly. The room we had was also pretty large and quiet, which was mainly what we were looking for.
Negatives:
The Garden Tower is starting to show its age. I stayed in a large deluxe room and the layout was unusual along with having a small outdated bathroom. We also noticed that there was mold on the ceiling in the living room. Big mold spots on an area probably 5 or 6 feet across. I took a picture and went down to the front desk and they quickly moved us to another room which had been remodeled recently and looked more updated. They also gave us a free desert for our trouble.
Also the television was not a smart TV, and only had access to local cable channels. I feel like having access to streaming services should be a basic amenity in 2024.
The breakfast at this hotel is also very bad, I'd say the worst I had in my 2 months in Japan. I strongly suggest you skip it. It was crowded and the food was lukewarm and honestly not very good. We paid nearly 5,000 yen per person felt very ripped off. Because of this experience on our first morning here, we didn't even try any of the other restaurants they had at the hotel.
Final word:
This hotel is ok, but it could be an incredible hotel if they updated the rooms and had a respectable breakfast on site.
