Everything about our stay was exceptional. This resort is truly the best destination in Honolulu. The rooms were impeccably cleaned daily, and the entire property beautifully preserved its historic charm. The beach was pristine and breathtaking, just steps from our room. Whether you're visiting as a couple or with family, this is the perfect Hawaiian getaway. We can't wait to return!

I would like to thank the Royal Hawaiian for an exceptional stay for my birthday week. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I want to send a special thanks to the housekeeping staff, especially Elsa, for making my room beautiful and clean everyday. Elsa also sent me a special birthday card and made my room extra special with a beautiful lei design and flowers on my bed for my birthday.

Excellent couple vacay spot
It was so lovely in every way for us. Excellent location and service. It was great for a couples stay. I would maybe think of another option for family stay. The swimming pool is lovely but small and more like a adult pool.

The Good-Beautiful grounds and hotel. Extremely comfortable beds. Fantastic location. The Bad-Lobby furniture was stained and looked dirty. The room furniture was very worn. The extra daily “entertainment “ fee was a mystery as to what it was for. Requested a late checkout but that was an additional $200.00 Nice hotel but we felt it was overpriced and at best a 4 star

The outstanding room service and pool service personnel do a great job of making their guests feel like family. The gardens are gorgeous and well maintained. Very relaxing. The resort common areas are in need of some care. For example the exterior of the new portion of the building has mismatched pink paint -

We love the luscious plants/garden! The scent of the gardenia all over! The staff were excellent! The welcome banana bread was a plus! The room was a little bit small and the bathroom but over all i would recommend this hotel!

The property cleanliness, history and all of the staff are fantastic. If you have a family member with celiacs or are gluten free, the food options in Waikiki are VERY few. The resort has GF toast. That’s it. The dinner option at the resort is a 5 course set menu that wasn’t very appealing but incredibly expensive. We ended up eating dinner at the same restaurant four out of six nights (very good Thai restaurant). Most of our meals were what we could put together at an ABC store (convenience store). There’s one on every block doing a banner business selling pre-packaged food. For us: One and done for Hawaii.

This definitely gives you the “old Hawaii” experience- from the welcome leis to the flowers, old world charm and friendliness of the staff. Everyone was so welcoming from the lobby staff to the staff giving out towels by the swimming pool. We also were given a free upgrade. The bed was so comfortable as were the robes and towels. Our only issue was that we should have booked more nights instead of only 2. Next time we will stay much longer!

It’s gorgeous. It’s the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in. When you walk in, the bell person picks up your suitcase and helps you in. They also give you a real lei as you walk in too, made of real flowers. There are no doors whatsoever, so the gorgeous Hawaiian breezes flow in and out of the entire hotel. The hotel backs up in to the Pacific Ocean. There are ample amounts of stores and restaurants on the property itself, but also within walking distance is the International Market Place as well as everything Kalakaua Ave has to offer. The amenities are plentiful. Hotel is extremely clean. Showers, bed/bedding, etc all very luxurious and comfortable. 10/10 recommend

The hotel was clean and beautiful but, the bar survives weren’t great. Maybe they might get stress from their busy work…

I felt like I was in paradise. I loved the smell of the hotel and the history. There really wasn’t anything that I didn’t like. Will definitely go back.
