The room itself was perfectly fine. I did run into an issue with the phone – the signs said to call reception, but the phone wouldn’t work at first. I eventually realised the wrong cord had been plugged in, so once I sorted that I could ring to request milk for a cup of tea, though it never arrived.
In the restaurant, the manager came across as quite curt, which made the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable when people asked questions about the menu. That said, the food was great and the wait staff were genuinely lovely.
One thing to be aware of is the timing: breakfast finishes at 10am even though checkout isn’t until 11am, so it’s not ideal if you’re hoping for a sleep-in and then to eat on-site. Otherwise, the nearest restaurants are only a short 5–10 minute drive away.
