Overall an excerllent modern hotel, i have stayed 4 times in ground floor business suites, which are modern, clean and comfortable. Walking distance to shopping mall, Supermarket, Rail and Weltec. This trip experianced first negitives: room fridge had only ome temp. "Frozen"( froze all my food and agsin when i turned it down to 7) start to finish of booking, unpleasant odur from bathroom drains(stopped with a wet towel over shower drain/plug in wash basin, on two occassions rhe rank odur of cigarette smoke entred room despite windows closed. I raised the first two issues with front desk - no resolution. ( a shame given my past experiance)

Sports teams booked in rooms across from me for the last two nights i have doors slamming and drunk people talking outside from around midnight to 1 or 2 in the morning. Dissapointed with response from desk as i asked if i could change rooms fully booked i was told. Why are guests like that able to be so inconsiderate and its not a issue. Definitely won't be recommending this place.

In a great location for amenities and getting onto the motorway. Comfortable bed and quiet unit even though it was on a busy street. A bit put off on arrival as the lobby smelled of cigarette smoke, then in our room 2 lightbulbs were out and the electric blanket didn’t work!!!

The hotel was comfortable. The room was tidy, although could've been a bit cleaner. Is in a convenient location. Not a lot of hotel options in Porirua. I'd stay there again.

Friendly staff and management. I lucked out getting a smokers room , but not motels fault as I should of asked ahead of time . Latest checkout time 10.30 am no extra charge. Comfortable beds, quiet, even though room was on traffic road , but it's a slow miles per hour road . Lovely large shower and very cosy rooms with everything you need . We will be back again . Thank you for a great experience at the Amethyst Motel.
