The property was good and staff great. Was close to town and beautiful stay. Only downfall is even though you pay in advance they still require a $320 safety deposit for your stay that you get returned up to 7 days after staying. I belive this is rough on families asking for this much in advance even after you had already paid for accommodation. I stayed for 5 days.

A nice hotel, in a great location on the waterfront. Close to public transport and the Te Papa museum. Room was spacious with a clean, modern bathroom. Helpful staff and reception were able to store my luggage for the day. Dated furniture in the bedroom with marks and stains but sheets and towels were clean. I would stay here again.

We loved staying at the Oriental Bay Copthorne on Christmas Eve. It was a treat for us as a couple and a lovely start to Christmas. The staff were lively and super-helpful. We had a spacious room with a full harbour view plus balcony and there were beautiful places close by to stroll in the afternoon and evening before dinner. We ate at the hotel because it was Christmas Eve but the supermarket is 3 minutes walk away and there are many and varied shops, bars and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. We loved this stay and will definitely book in there again.
