Our room was better than expected. Large room with a double and single bed. Slightly tired in areas but overall ok. Room was well equipped with lots of warm throws, an iron, fan, small stool, wardrobe/drawer space, basin & shave point, draught/light excluder, small fridge and tea & coffee making facilities. The en-suite shower room was very 'snug' and whilst in need of re-tiling/a bit of bleach on the grout, it was ok. It all worked. The tv was tiny and would also be better placed away from where the kettle is (for safety reasons). I found the beds very soft and comfortable but I don’t like a firm mattress. The pillows were way too high for me so would recommend taking your own if you prefer a flatter one. Major stiff neck otherwise. We found the accommodation quiet and had no issues whatsoever. As breakfast isn't available on-site, Wetherspoons is a 10 minute walk away. Parking however is a BIG issue. Be prepared to have to pay as there is no free parking on the street unless you strike very, very lucky and get one. Everywhere else in the area is permit parking for locals. One last point is that behind the facade of the seafront, the area is what I can only describe as dodgy and I was wary walking home on an evening with my young son. Overall, if I had to return to Blackpool, I would be happy to stay at the Winning post.
