We stayed for one night in the Lucie Snowe Suite, which was on the 4th floor, on the corner of Briggate and opposite McDonalds. The room was lovely and clean, although the bathroom is not so executive given this is a suite. The toilet didn’t flush properly, and the shower kept going hot and then cold throughout the shower, which is part of the bath. I got just as wet from the spray from the faulty hose as I did from the shower head.
Although it seemed the room was in an ideal location when we arrived, at night time the noise really let our experience down.
My partner and I really struggled to sleep and finally got to sleep at 4 AM after hours and hours of loud “bass” music from the clubs on Briggate, noise from drunk people outside and around other areas of the hotel, as well as traffic and loud music.
The noise element of my review is unfortunate for the hotel I feel as it is a bit beyond their control.
We did have access to the Executive Lounge which was very good. Soft drinks and Tea/Coffee served all day, and at 5:30pm they have free wine/beer/drinks plus snacks which made it a very pleasant drop in area before carrying on with our plans for the night.
In hindsight, the location is very convenient and Executive Louge very good, but probably only best for heavy sleepers! I’m not sure I would stay there again..
