We booked an executive room with a runway view at the Atrium Hotel in Heathrow for £166.04, expecting a relaxing stay with a unique view of the busy Heathrow runway. Unfortunately, what we got was far from acceptable.
Upon arrival in Room 3125, we were shocked to find that the "runway view" we paid for was nonexistent. Instead, the room overlooked a busy road, with no sight of the promised runway. We checked in at 14:50 on Wednesday, 16th October 2024, at one of the busiest airports in the world, yet we were told by the receptionist that we wouldn't see any planes due to the time of day—an absurd claim considering our location. We had been in the room for over an hour without seeing a single plane.
As if that wasn't bad enough, we discovered ants crawling underneath the pillows and sheets. This was beyond unhygienic and unacceptable. We immediately decided that we were not staying in the room. When we informed the receptionist, she called the manager, who offered to change our room, but by then, we had lost all trust in the hotel's cleanliness. When we refused the offer, the manager made it clear that no refund would be offered.
We left the hotel without staying the night, yet were still charged the full price for the room, breakfast, and an additional £16 for parking. This experience has made us completely reconsider ever returning to this hotel.
If you're looking for a clean, comfortable stay with reliable service—look elsewhere. This place is a disaster.
