I can't say I'll be in a rush to stay here again. Between: - The RFID tag in the room card failed on me 3 times in the space of 24 hours - Being told I had a room with a window, only to find it was this pathetic excuse for a window and equally terrible view - The staff being apathetic. - The other people staying on the Saturday night do not understand that shouting at each other gone 2 am is not acceptable, and neither is talking as though you're on a busy high street at 4 am - The bed being about as comfy as a hostel bed - There is no number to call for any issues that might come up, and instead, an OUTDATED note about using the phone in the room (when there is no phone in the room) telling me to press 0 to get through to reception - Not being told on this website about the Manchester hotel tax?? Thankfully it wasn't much but still, undisclosed pricing is really shady. Especially when its a tax. All in all, it's made me not want to stay at the Britannia or use this site again. I paid a not small amount to get 6 hours of sleep between Friday and Sunday morning, I don't feel I got a fair deal here.

This place is awful, paint peeling off the walls, no window, the heating was on full, no air on or a fan, the bed uncomfortable

This was obviously once a stunning hotel. it is now showing signs of age but is far from shabby. Room was comfortable but noisy with the window open. Shower was quite powerful but shower curtain sticking to you when showering is really annoying! Need curved curtain rails! Didn't eat there as breakfast finished at 9.30am. Didn't drink there as bar was closed at 10pm when we got back from our event. I'd stay again but wouldn't look forward to it.

When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by other members of the public causing a lot of disruption in the reception areas, making threats to staff and the hotel itself. Threatening to smash the place up etc. this went on for quite some time causing a hold up at check in and making me and my partner and everyone else around us feel very unsafe and uncomfortable. The staff just let this altercation carry on with no security or police been called. It was handled very unprofessionally and left us feeling uneasy about our stay. When we got in to the room there was an unbearable smell of Canabis, the light switches were grubby and the shower was leaking all over the bathroom every time it was turned on. There was lots of rust in the bathroom. The room felt stuffy and dark. We didn’t spend much of our stay in the room as we simply just didn’t feel comfortable.

The room we had was tiny, with no window, and the stench of stale cigarette smoke was so overpowering it made us feel quite sick. Lots of fixtures and fittings were broken too including the wardrobe. I would not stay at this hotel again.
