Got this hotel for a bargain on the weekend. The interior of the building is absolutely magnificent and the staff at check in were so friendly. Rooms are spotless, plenty towels and toilet rolls, a tiny bit dated but not worth moaning about. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The next time I travel to Newcastle I will certainly be staying here.
Three-night trip over a weekend. We've stayed here before as it's so handy for the station. The service and staff always excellent and rooms comfortable. This time we had buffet breakfast too which was good value if you book it with the room.
Nice hotel, very big. The room I was booked in smelt of smoke, but staff were very accommodating in moving me. Hotel decor a bit dated. Staff super friendly and helpful.
We were there weekend of Newcastle United football celebrations so being right outside station it was very noisy all night up to 05:30am with lots of crowds outside, and even with closed windows we could still hear a lot.
We had someone wake us up knock on our room door about 3:30am and kept knocking. Did not answer however question access to hotel was pretty open and anyone could have walked up from busy street below.
Leisure centre is small and a bit dated but nice to have a swim and jacuzzi!
Very old fashioned style hotel and posh(which I didn't expect). The staff and receptionist were very friendly and helpful despite our original room reassigned due to bookings.
The room was nice but needed a good clean from dust behind the bed and unempty dirty bins in the bathroom and near the top of the ceiling near the tele, there were mold and damp damage (which we reported and we're given discount). Other than the room the pool, food and hotel experience was great.
Stayed for one night as attending a function at the hotel. Great for a 3 star, lovely big room with only minor issues, no tea bags, lights on the dressing table and bathroom mirror need new bulbs and no shampoo/soap in the bath dispenser. Comfortable bed, good room temperature great breakfast lovely staff

Staff excellent, and the spa was a huge bonus, given the price.
It's small, but I found it comfortable and not too busy.
Bed was great, shower decent, good sized room and general facilities were excellent.

We’ve never stayed in a noisier room. The carpet was disgusting as were the walls drapes. Bathroom was in ruff shape.Bed wasn’t in terrible condition. The noise from downstairs kept us awake most the night
Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms a bit dated but given age it still offers a good charmed stay.
One issue I did find was room was still warm after turning radiator low. South facing window means sun early but no major issue.
Noise is minimal even tho station is just a short distance.
Used leisure facility and would advise wet shoes as changing is up stairs for pool and fitness, with pool downstairs.
Overall would recommend the hotel.
