A great one night stay. We were given a free upgrade. Room and bathroom very nice. Upgraded room wasn't in 'the prison' though so lacked the charm of the older part of the hotel. Staff very pleasant. A bit of an issue with breakfast: everyone's food took a long time to arrive. Restaurant manager refunded everyone's breakfast bill without having to be asked.

The hotel is centrally located to the main areas of the city centre and most places of interest are within walking distance. Staff are attentive and pleasant. Hotel is quirky in the fact it is a former prison but the rooms are spacious and clean.

Interesting hotel.
Interesting hotel history and setting. Not sure it is worth a premium over other hotels. Room was nothing special for the cost. Lack of mini bar, everything including movies (£6.99!) extra

What a great hotel, I booked this as a surprise for my wife’s birthday and it didn’t disappoint. It’s such a unique hotel in a great setting, the way the hotel has kept the features of the prison whilst making it a luxury hotel is brilliant. We stayed in the main prison part of the hotel and I would highly recommend it to anyone. We had dinner at the restaurant as well and the food was lovely. All staff were so helpful and friendly. Great location for shopping and to explore beautiful Oxford.
