TV turned on automatically during the night.
Both nights that I slept in the hotel, the TV turned on automatically while I was sleeping. I checked and there was no alarm set on the TV. It turned on to a bright white screen with instructions to share my screen to watch from my phone to the TV.

Good location, close to train station and town centre. Room was tired, stains on carpet. It’s more functional than exceptional. It suited my need as I arrived late and only stayed one night. Wi-Fi didn’t work in my room. Did mention it to reception who told me iPhones don’t always work?!? I noted it worked in reception just not my room.

I would try another Ibis. I would not choose to stay at this hotel again, though. Design flaw in bathrooms impacting plumbing. Bathroom smelled funky. Great location. Lovely reception staff.

Nice hotel , uncomfortable single beds ..
Easy check in , room was very tidy. Nice hot shower. The only downside was the twin room beds were uncomfortable , breakfast was ok , lots of choice.

horrible, smelled of urine, no TV, cold shower
Very disappointing; TV didn't work & I was told there's nothing they can do as they're fully booked & TV person has gone home. Toilet smelled of urine as if it needed a good clean & as the bathroom door didn't shut (swollen with damp) the whole room smelled of urine. The shower was sadly only just warm even on the 41 degrees setting, not hot enough to wash effectively. Bed was comfy but I won't be back.

The staff at the Ibis Reading Center is very helpful. The hotel is centrally located, near the train station and other sites such as the Abbey ruins and Reading Gaol.

I stayed in room 1014 overnight Sep 27/28. I noticed some discoloration on the bathroom door frame floor that looked like dried blood. I am trying to attach the photos that I took if it but can't somehow attach them. When checking in, was given room key but it didn't open the door. I had to return to the lobby with my baggage to get a key that worked. It seems that the counter staff has been playing jokes on each other when key my key was issued! After a long train journey, it was not something I found funny!!
