Room too warm couldn't leave window open due to room right next public footpath. Bed and pillow like concrete. Smell of people smoking in hotel left at 7.30 in morning would definitely not recommend. Seagulls squawking all night.
very small room. Had to move chair to access the sink. View of Scarborough obscured by v.dirty window. Toilet was in an alcove with a door on it and no extractor fan. Bed runner / scarf stained - didn't stay the 2nd of two nights went home. Check-in took nearly an hour.
Bed uncomfortable, would probably have been better on a park bench. Exterior of hotel and foyer / reception grand, rest of the place shabby and in need of urgent renovation. Avoid.

Fine old building given the size of the place it’s very well kept, will be back 👍
Tv wasnt working all the time. Very intermittent. Very noisy with motor cycles constantly riding up and down for hours. Our room sounding like there was running water all the time.
Generally very run down and appeared understaffed, food options were very poor so didnt eat in the hotel. Toilet in room leaked and generally the room wasnt very clean. By 10am the lounge areas were still unmaned with coffee machines etc still turned off and supplies hadnt been replenished from the previous day.
The bed was probably the most uncomfortable thing I've ever slept on.
Seagulls, my god the seagulls... Seagull droppings everywhere outside, constant squarking day and night. I know it's a seaside hotel, but the amount of nests on the building really doesn't help the place out.
Otherwise pretty much what expected for a last minute cheap hotel stay.

Outside terrace has great views. Can bring hot/cold drinks onto terrace. Very close to funicular railway. Ask if have lift phobia, as I was on top floor.
I absolutely loved my stay .. the room was perfect with a great sea view and comfy bed . There was everything needed in the room and the staff was so friendly and helpful .
