Dining was good on the first evening apart from the length of time to deliver the main course {our prepared food was delivered to the wrong table, so there was a delay in delivering two meals for us), and on the second evening one main course and one dessert were overcooked and dry.
The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. However the staff and service, were not good.
The person who checked us in was the most unfriendly and disinterested I have ever encountered. Mumbling and then sighing when I asked them to repeat.
Then, there was some event/party that was going on until 2am… so very little sleep. Added to the fact that housekeeping woke us up at about 8 on a Saturday. Not happy with that.
Oh, and even though this site says they do room service, they don’t (or at least didn’t that night)
Overall, was not even close to being worth the price I paid when I can get better service from lower cost alternatives. Will not be staying here again.
Great service, nice and close to the centre. Breakfast was excellent. We visited for the Christmas market which was cancelled due to storm Darraugh so not quite the break we expected but still a nice place to stay.
You told me parking was included. It was not.
You told me there was a safe in the room. There was. However it was not connected to the room in any way. You could just pick it up and walk off with it.
Conveniently located and clean. A little dated though, dark and brown. Could do with a refurb. One of the very slow lifts has been out of action for several months now.
Stayed for a Friday evening out in the town for dinner & drinks. Location withing minutes of the train station and a short walk to the town and local bars/restaurants. A little on the expensive side but superb rooms for all 6 that attended. We didnt use the bar or breakfast as there were many other local options that suited us better.
Stayed 2 nights. Location good. Room had very creaky bed, impossible to sleep on, and shower that sprayed water out of the back of the hose. Reception changed room without fuss for second night. Expensive for what it was, especially breakfast which was a buffet, not very high quality. Also surprised to pay high tariff for parking as hotel guests!
Beautiful location, very walkable from the train station and to the old town where the historic sights are. It’s a modern hotel, very clean m, and the staff are very accommodating. We enjoyed our visit, the only caveat I’d say is to try to return from sightseeing before dark- since it’s dark by 7 pm at this time of year (early October) , it was a dark stroll coming in from town after dinner and the hotel grounds are not lighted after dark.
