Perfect little guest house
I've always wanted to stay here but haven’t been able to because its always been full. Having now stayed there, I understand why as this place is excellent. We received a very friendly welcome. The communal areas and room were spotless. The hotel is quiet - it almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. Bed comfortable, bedding clean, bathroom spotless. Tea, coffee, milk, hot chocolate, and kettle in the room. Central heating worked well and the room was cosy. Good pressure from the shower. Breakfast was appealing and tasty. Very reasonable peice and the location convenient for city centre and railway station. Can't fault a thing about this place and hope to be able to stay again soon!

The owner Danielle was very welcoming on arrival. We were able to check in early which was very helpful. The breakfast and options were delicious. Rooms were very comfortable and clean though a little tired. Location is spot on for York station and walking to and from town centre. We would happily stay again.

Our stay at Apple House was truly exceptional! The hospitality was outstanding, and the breakfasts served each morning were absolutely delicious. To be honest, this bed and breakfast surpassed any four-star hotel we’ve stayed at in England. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the railway station, which made everything so convenient and within easy reach. Highly recommend staying here!

A really lovely, clean and quiet hotel. Lovely people, spotless and with an amazing breakfast! 15 min slow walk into the centre of York but the bus stops right outside too!

The staff were very kind and accommodating. Breakfast was delightful and great portions. The room was lovely, clean and well stocked. Towels were pretty small and the washing up facilities weren’t great with our little kitchen area is the only slight critique. Great location, little walk to loads of good spots and super convenient for the train station. Trains are quite loud, but we did have the window open and it is very close so kind of can’t get away from that.

Absolutely lovely guest house with lovely staff. Breakfast is amazing and fresh and everything was accommodated for. Mini fridge, hot chocolate, and chocolate was a nice touch in the rooms. Only slight improvement could be made on the rooms is they need a bit of TLC in places (just a lick of paint where it has scuffed) and a good clean of the kettles because it put me off using them to make a hot drink. But other than that, it was a perfect stay, thank you!

Charming, modern stay in a historic house
I had the room at the very top of the house. It was charming and fit my needs very well! There's no window per se, but there is a skylight over the bed and a little vent slat you can open. There's also an aircon in case you get too warm. The table was great for getting some work done and the bathroom was modern and well-equipped - definitely felt a star higher than I expected for the price. The breakfast was excellent! The owners are very nice and take great care of the guests. It's a very short walk into town and there's a shop around the corner. Highly recommended!

Would happily return to this family-run B&B!
We had a wonderful stay with our eight month old and two Shih Tzu dogs. The owners were so accommodating and friendly, making every effort to ensure our stay was comfortable - even going out to buy full fat milk for our little one's breakfast and cooking a sausage for our dogs (greatly appreciated by them!). The cooked breakfast was excellent and of high quality. You can adapt to your requirements. We stayed in a family room, the empire room (number 2), which was very spacious. A cot bed was provided - we brought our own mattress with us as we usually find the travel cots mattresses aren't that great. Inside the room were plenty of drink options for hot drinks. Even had a mini fridge which was a nice touch and bottled water was provided each morning for free. Parking is plentiful at the back of the hotel. Location is excellent - about 15 mins walk to the centre. Will definitely stay here again if we return to York.

A gem !!!
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Gracious hosts who were very welcoming and accommodating. An easy to walk into town, which was a bonus. Many food outlets; pubs, cafes and restaurants in close proximity. Rooms very clean and bed was super comfortable. Loved being able to make a cup of tea in my room. Fabulous breakfast. Fresh fruits, yoghurts, juice; freshly cooked eggs, bacon, etc Thanks Next time I am in town, I will be sure to stay here again.

Lovely little Bed and Breakfast. The staff and their warm welcome is what makes the place special. The family room we got was large, well-equipped and warm, with a separate bedroom for the children. The goodies waiting for us upon arrival made it extra special. Really hoping to come back one day!
