Disappointing hotel experience !!
Although Miyako Tanakawa reviews mentioned that the hotel is not far from the Yamamoto line and Shinkansen, we discovered that it is a fairly long walk to Shinagawa train station. Good impression of Miyako hotel staff. The front office staff were helpful courteous and pleasant. We had booked the largest room with a sofa and King size bed. However the hotel room is rather compact and the bed was parked against the wall on one side, and it was really difficult for my partner to get in and out of bed, especially in the middle of the night whenever there’s a need to use the toilet. This posed a real challenge and a bit of hardship for us during the six nights’ stay at the Miyako Tanakawa. The bathroom on the other hand was quite spacious by Japanese standards but I personally would prefer more space in the room. There was insufficient space to even open my suitcase, therefore the entire stay of one week, I had to live out of the suitcase. There were not many dining options nearby and the hotel location was rather inconvenient. For these reasons, Miyako Tanakawa Hotel did not meet our expectations.

Staff was wonderful and spoke perfect English. They were very attentive and helpful. The area is mostly offices, so its not good for nightlife, but convenience stores are near and it is very importantly nearby to Shinagawa station, perfect for a quick trip to or from Haneda

Solid hotel stay. Very roomy bathroom. Decent view out of the window of Shinagawa train station and the new building being constructed across the street. Close access to train station. Convenience store (Lawsons?) within a couple of walking minutes away and a local supermarket about a 15 minute walk away for good lunch/dinner bentos. Enjoyed out stay here.
