Newly remodeled historic plantation era Hawaiian style with breathtaking ocean views. The amazing view from both the upstairs and downstairs lanai looks out over the fresh water lagoon, a garden/lawn and the blue, blue ocean. Although it is only a minute’s walk to the beach, it has a very peaceful and private feel. Planted landscaping leading up to the fresh water lagoon provides abundant privacy and does not allow for anyone to walk in front of the unit. It is all garden and water. This unit is one of the best on the property!
Steps to the sand. The Kiahuna Plantation is the ONLY BEACHFRONT CONDO RENTAL IN POIPU AREA ON A SANDY BEACH. Many properties in Hawaii have nice views but are on cliffs or far from a sandy beach. Here you can WALK to the sand! Surf, snorkel, play in the waves walking distance to condo. This resort is located on the south shore of Kauai which is the SUNNY side of the island and has more sunshine and nice weather than any other part of the island.
The Hawaiian plantation style architecture, the lush tropical gardens and birds with walking trails throughout the property, lanai windows, ceiling fans and ocean trade winds offer the true Hawaiian experience. The original Plantation House, now the onsite restaurant and bar, are pieces of history from the early days of the first sugar plantation. The Kiahuna plantation is not a crowded high rise resort.
This unit is comfortable for guests of all ages. The beach in front of the condo is great for snorkelers, sunbathers, kids and beginning to advanced surfers.
The unit itself is spacious and comfortable. Upstairs has the main living area and the fully equipped kitchen, both with the wonderful view. When or if you tire of going out to all the great nearby restaurants, the kitchen is well supplied with everything but the food for cooking meals. Or, you can relax and enjoy the immaculate, well maintained outdoor gas BBQs close by as well as picnic tables for social gatherings.
Downstairs there is a master suite with attached bath. The master also has its own lanai, ocean view, and TV. The second bedroom, on the garden side of the condo, has two twin beds that can convert to a king for a second couple. The hall bath is next to the second bedroom. There is also a very comfortable queen bed inside the sofa. Portacrib and safety gate available in unit.
Every activity there is to do in Hawaii can be done right from this unit. If not at the Kiahuna, then just a short walk or drive away. Sailing, fishing, sightseeing, hiking, anything on the ocean - paddle boarding, kayaking, surfing (two nice breaks right in front of the Kiahuna), snorkeling, diving or just floating with cocktail in hand! There is a guest beach hut and showers close to the condo. The beach hut on property can get you everything you need for the beach: towels, chairs, sunscreen, snorkeling gear, and even sand castle building supplies!
Local activities, all within walking distance to your condo, include diving instruction, surf and paddle board rentals and lessons, and outdoor yoga on the lawn. The famous Brennecke's beach is just a short distance away.
For those that want a break from the beach, there is a sprawling lawn area right in front of the beach. Pull up a lounge chair under the shade of the coconut palms; enjoy a good read with an occasional dip in the ocean.
For some pool time, our guests have free access to the Poipu Athletic Club, website link as follows: http://poipuclub.com/
The condo is just a short walk to the restaurants and shops across the street at Poipu Shopping Village. Start your day with a cold press juice from Kauai Juice Co (or a Starbucks coffee!) and choose from a variety of dine-in restaurants offered throughout the Village. We love Keoki's Paradise with it's open air seating and live music at the bar. There is also plenty of shopping options at Poipu Shopping Village to purchase clothing, jewelry and gifts. Alternatively, you can also travel a short distance west to Kukui'ula for more stores, restaurants, and Living Foods (a fabulous natural foods grocer and deli).
Kauai itself has unlimited things to do and explore. From shopping to helicopter rides to exploring the North and West shores by Zodiac or catamaran excursions. Last time we were there we paddle boarded up the Wailua River and then hiked up to Secret Falls. Really an incredible experience!
Just know that whenever you come back to the Kiahuna, you will have a beautiful and comfortable home to hang your sunhat in- with its' own amazing view of the ocean that may make you not want to leave!
