I have stayed here several times for work and it is usually my top choice due to more relaxed crowds and wonderful staff. This time there were a few issues. Two of three elevators were down so it took forever to get anywhere. A female staff member or someone with a keycard entered my room at 10pm while I was sleeping in there and shocked me. When I inquired they said no women were on duty that night. It was quite alarming. The security was very considerate with listening to my complaint but not ideal.

This place was very nice. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating from checking in to checking out. The employees in the lobby, casino, restaurants, and housekeeping were all great. We will definitely stay here again.

Only 1 working elevator at each location. Very unsafe in case of emergency. Had to use elevator with security guards when the one and only elevator was not functioning. Had wet carpets from air conditioning leaks. Began to smell like mildew. My family has been going to the CAL for over 25 years.

I have been going to this hotel for years and have had no issues. This time was a complete disaster. First of all, one of the ladies at the check in table had a bad attitude and did not direct us to the correct tower. Secondly, all the elevators but one on each tower was working. We waited 30 minutes to get on the elevator. The only highlight about this place was and will always be Aloha specialties and the chocolate and ice cream place on the mezzanine. Also there is free parking for hotel guests. Otherwise, management and the overall team needs to do better.

Only one elevator was working on our side of hotel. Bathrooms were too small. Staff was super friendly and maids super nice and accommodating. Rooms were super clean! Staff answered all our questions and had a friendly demeanor and patience! Definitely a great experience!

Overall, the hospitality was fine. The workers, including other guest were friendly. When we checked into the room, we discovered a huge toenail on the floor. Had to pick it up with tissue, (ughhh).. refrigerator wasn’t working, which they quickly replaced. Serviced the room with more towels when we called to the front desk…. Air control was a little off, so it was hard to sleep at night. Only one elevator and that went out for a few hours.. Would they be my first pick for the next visit, no… However, if I had no other options, i would go back. Again, great people!

Quiet and convenient
I’ve stayed at the California many times for its convenience. It’s quiet, the rooms are cozy and it has great restaurants. Unfortunately, the last couple of times I’ve stayed there, they have had multiple elevators that weren’t working. In my tower, 2 out of 3 weren’t working and I didn’t see anyone working on them the whole week I was there

The hotel has easy access to the freeway. Parking is free and convenient. Check-in was fast and the front desk staff was very friendly. Getting to the room from the lobby was very easy because of the elevators being real close. The room was clean and comfortable. We'll be back.
