The property itself is new, modern and clean. The rooms were great, though with very minimalist furniture (no drawers). The bathroom was big, clean with bright lights and had great all-cotton towels. The neighborhood is scetchy as it is adjacent to a big housing complex. But no one ever bothered me. Only food nearby is Wendy's and WingStop. Other places require longer walks. The 'F' line is an easy walk thru the housing complex and only 2 stops to Manhattan. The one BIG issue was when I left and asked for a taxi and was told by the front desk a fare that ended up being a limo and $10 more! One very unpleasant experience after a week of quite pleasant ones.

It Could Have Been Better
The hotel itself was fine. The room was clean and comfortable. What I didn’t like was I was put on the the 4th floor near the elevator when I specifically asked ahead of time for an upper floor (16 floors), away from the elevator. I also don’t like being in a handicapped room where the water gets all over the bathroom floor while taking a shower. When I asked the front desk why I was placed in that room, I was told that what I was assigned. The hotel was far from full.

The hotel was very clean. Standards were very high. All the staff were very professional. Especially Amy on the front desk, who very informative and helpfull. Really convenient for the subway. My only critical comment would be the immediate area outside the premises were not the most inviting on approach.

Good hotel at good price and great location - 5min walk from 21 & Queensboro MTA station. Breakfast is mainly re-heated frozen foods. Service is outstanding and very accommodating. Rooms with city views are smaller and a bit cramped. The hotel is right next to one of NYC's largest projects, so be warned and prepared.

The property was "okay" (nothing special), but the neighborhood is horrible. We walked a block and a half to a restaurant (that locks its door and checks you out before letting you in-likely for their own safety), and we both felt very unsafe. I would characterize the neighborhood as a slum. Sorry!
