Cheap Hotels in Tudor City

The location is one of the greatest in all Manhattan

I DO NOT like paying such an outrageous facility fee! That needs to be delt with. Wasn’t happy. Won’t do that again

The New Yorker is a classic NYC hotel in great condition, nicely refurbished. Central location within walking distance of many restaurants, stores, entertainment and attractions. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very nice - not particularly large but clean and well-designed with good views. Great experience overall.

I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in January 2025 and was glad I chose it. The front desk at check-in was congenial and efficient and answered the few questions I had and allowed me to check-in early. My room was well arranged, very clean and up to date. I really appreciated that the windows had two blinds: one for total blackout darkness and another more sheer to allow light in but still provide privacy. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was very clean, too, and had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Wi-Fi was quick and stable. The only negative was sound penetration of the room. The door allowed more noise than I expected to come in whenever anyone left or returned to the room next door. Happily they weren't coming at odd hours so there was no real impact on the quality of my stay. Similarly with the sound of water from, I assume, the shower running in the room above or adjacent to my own. It was surprisingly obvious but, again, not at times that impacted my sleep, etc. Another complaint not about the room but about hotel policy is the ridiculous "resort" fee. The Westgate is a fine hotel and I enjoyed my stay immensely but a $40US non-optional fee is ridiculous, especially since it only covers bottled water, wi-fi and the fitness centre. In 2025 wi-fi isn't a luxury at a hotel, it's as basic a feature as a bed and shower. The Westgate is a fine hotel and shouldn't have to resort to sham resort fees. Still, I had a great stay and would stay again.

This hotel was perfect for our stay. It’s convenient to everything in midtown and perfect if you’re coming for shows. The staff was so helpful when it came to complications with our trip and worked to take care of everything with us after our flight home was cancelled and we needed to stay another night. Everything was great!
